Mike,
This was discussed a while ago - unlike iserver & vps2 lists, this
list has a great archive *nudge, nudge*

I think abigail has done some email-only hosting on a VPS2, so she may
be a good resource.

Hello,
We have a client who is starting to utilize a lot of e-mail and would
like to purchase an additional server (VPS2B) just for e-mail. Their
current e-mail and website are on the same server, which is dedicated
to this client.
In order to accomplish this, I know I need to create each account on
the e-mail only server (and transfer e-mail files). I also know I
need to add their domain to the local-host-names on the new server
and (I assume) remove it from the old server. I also know I need to
update the MX to point to the new server.
Do I have to do any updates with Apache so FormMail program will
forward to the new server? Do I need to update sendmail to tell it
that not to accept outside connections as all of the connections
should go to the new e-mail server?
Have I missed anything? This is a big client of ours and I don't
want to mess this up and risk losing the client.
Thank you for your help in this matter.
Mike
