When I set the spam/virus filtering system up (SA and MailScanner
filtering), I offered it to my clients (at a small fee) and all my
contributing clients' mails are run through that server, so we use a
standard set of initial criteria.
I'm surprised that you're able to offer anti-spam as an add-on. Then
again, my hosting prices are above the norm ($35/month for a subhosting
account on a VPS), so your hosting prices may be low enough that the
add-on still makes sense.
20mb + 1 mailbox for euros 100 p.a.
And I'm expensive for the local market
Mail from known databased spammers (e.g. from Spammers-R-Us.ru) is
bounced. ALL other mails are delivered to the appropriate server, where
a plethora of individual preferences are catered for by Procmail recipes.
Interesting - so you have VPS #1 handle ALL incoming email, then it
bounces it to other various VPSs?
Yes - forwards to the relevant IP address, where the virtusertable and
local procmail takes over
Some folks want to see the suspect spam, others join me in trashing the
lot, some want specific addresses blacklisted, some want to receive .exe
attachments (!) others don't....
Ah, when I see how much time you spend on crafting individual's spam
preferences, a fee makes sense. I offer clients either the 'see all
SA-labeled spam' or 'trash all SA-labeled spam' options
It's pretty much an initial setup, then rare tinkerings afterwards. It's my
"USP" on spam/virus filtering.
I hope this helps clarify?
Greatly - thank you :)
But getting back to my original question, I think I just need to run my
own personal spam thru sa-learn again with all the [spam]-subject email
that's getting thru. Those spams are getting tagged as BAYES_00 by SA, so
it obviously needs to be 'schooled' :)
