[vps-mail] allowing automatic email from server
- Subject: [vps-mail] allowing automatic email from server

Now that I have a VPS2 and can give out shell to people, I've noticed
that with my sendmail configuration, the automatic emails that are sent
to users (crontab, abnormally terminated vi sessions, etc) bounce. This
is entirely my fault since I added the following to /etc/mail/virtusertable:
root@xxxxxxxxxxxxx me
@server.domain nobody
For all other users, I have associated them with the other domains I
control and mail flows normally.
The question:
How do I allow mail to the server's domain to go through to system
users only when it is generated on the server?
Possible methods I have thought of (but don't know how to implement at
the moment) are:
1. Modify the system to use different sendmail options when generating
email
2. Modify the system use different domains than the server's for
different users
3. Modify the sendmail configuration to do what I want
Any help would be appreciated
