Hello everyone,
I thought that I would post this article for those of you who may be
interested in this. The Storm worm is the email that is a blank
message with an attachment that is so difficult for us to filter. It
carries greater damage potential than initially thought.
Fake e-cards signal massive DDoS attack
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2007/08/07/storm_worm_spike/
Security researchers are reporting a sharp increase in the number of
machines infected by the Storm Worm, prompting speculation that its
authors, who so far have limited their activities to spam, intend to
use it for more destructive purposes, such as launching massive
denial of service attacks.
BTW, on that page is also the best ad I have seen in a long while...
the Intel Centrino Multiply Mobile Security ad.
(the product ad randomizes so you may have to refresh to see this one)
This ad is an interactive ad. It shows three security guys protecting
their computers. Move the cursor around the page and each security
guy will "individually" watch the cursor position. Cross the ad and
one security guy catches your cursor and stomps on it. :) I love it!
Best wishes,
Rae
