For announce-only lists, Dada Mail (http://mojo.skazat.com/) is an
easy-to-use, self-hosted list manager with support for multiple lists,
HTML-formatted messages, clickthrough tracking, and more.
Unfortunately, tracking more than the email address of each subscriber
isn't supported yet. It's slated for the next release, so keep an eye
on it.
Note: The reason you pay for services like Aweber and Constant Contact
isn't features, but deliverability. Chances are real good that if you
self-host, a *lot* of your messages are not going to reach their
intended recipient. The top paid services have a staff that constantly
monitors delivery rates, works with ISPs to make sure the lists stay
whitelisted, and so on.
Be seeing you...
