I agree 100% with Wilson here and have also complained to Verio about
this.

Has it never crossed the minds of the marketing people at Verio that
some of their clients may not be in a geographic location anywhere near
what they're posting about is based? Like, if maybe "France" is in the
'country' field of my personal information? So why are they sending me
information on seminars and meetings that are not even taking place on
the same continent as where I am?

I'm busy. I just about have time for a life at the moment, and even
that's touch-and-go. It's almost got to the point where mail from Verio
is "delete on sight", but then I'm going to miss technical updates
which *are* useful, and, as Wilson pointed out, there doesn't seem to
be any way to separate the wheat from the chaff here.

The only reason both technical bulletins and marketing crap are all
bundled together has to be because Verio knows full well that nobody
wants the latter and that it's the only way thy have of getting it out
(by force-feeding it to their customers). Now, that could never be
counter-productive, could it....
