Godwin,
I read your comments a few weeks back with interest. I'm a firm
believer in RBLs. I myself didn't wait for this vinstall to set up
RBLs for my servers. FWIW I see this as a great tool for those
who aren't quite confident to set things up for themselves. HOWEVER,
those are the exact same people that could be harmed by misues of
a dangerous tool. I agree with you that Verio should take a little
more care in their "featured list" of RBLs
It does look like Verio is taking some action in that direction.
I noticed the following differences (omissions) in today's Server
Notification list:
relays.osirusoft.com -> OsiruSoft
spammers.v6net.org -> Arbitrary black hole list (ABL)
vox.schpider.com -> VOX DNSBL
dun.dnsrbl.net -> Domain Name System Real-time Black List (DNSRBL)
Glaringly absent from this list (by that I mean still apparently
present in the vinstall) is:
spews.relays.osirusoft.com -> SPEWS
I never was a fan of spews in the first place. When combined with
your comments regarding osirusoft, I wouldn't go near this one with
a 10 foot pole.
Harrison.
