I don't know what they were smoking at Verio when they sent this out,
but, well... Judge for yourselves:

The insclusion of these two DNSBL's in the list of those provided is
monumental in its stupidity. Joe Jared (who ran osirusoft) was DDoS'ed
off the Internet by spammers unhappy with his efforts to block them. He
had to give up running the DNSBL's in order for them to relent (law
enforcement stood back and watched while this was happening, BTW, and
Joe was then sued by spammers for impeding their "frea speach").
This happened several years ago. Since then, all DNSBL's in the
osirusoft.com domain have listed the entirety of IPv4 space in an
effort to get admins who were using them to *stop* using them.
Go ahead and use these DNSBL's if you want to block 100% of the spam
sent your way, but be prepared not to receive any ham either!
Those who really want to use SPEWS can use the l1.spews.dnsbl.sorbs.net
and l2.spews.dnsbl.sorbs.net mirrors.
Did anybody actually wait for this new sooper-dooper whiz-bang service
to implement DNSBL's in their sendmail configuration anyway?
