Scott,
Bless your patience...
It isn't the prettiest document in the world, but the answer to many
spamassassin questions posted to this list in the last few months are here:
http://spamassassin.org/full/2.6x/dist/README
Perhaps it is even worth printing and reading?
Earlier versions have pointers on the first page (http://spamassassin.org)
1. What do I put in here to have the Bayes filtered items separated from the
other Spamassassin stuff?
I assumed (maybe incorrectly) that this meant in order to examine the
Baysean operation, hence the procmail suggestion or even visibly looking
at headers with (for example) grep.
btw, http://spamassassin.org/doc/Mail_SpamAssassin_Bayes.html
Has pointers to two sites about the Bayes algorithms.
http://spamassassin.org/doc/Mail_SpamAssassin_Conf.html
has a lot of, um spamassassin configuration info.
