Re: [vps-mail] mailman taboo words

I know that it is easy to pipe emails through a script before they go to
mailman. I do this on lists to strip out all attachments, using stripmime.

So maybe you could write a simple filtering script that will dev/null the
emails, or perhaps even modify a script like stripmime to do what you want.
Stripmime IS a script that does exactly that: it reads the body of the email
and filters out undesired content -- it just happens to be looking for
unwanted attachments and converting HTML characters, rather than focusing on
taboo or forbidden words.

However, the script is extremely well annotated -- there is a comment on
just about every line or section that tells what it does. So I think it
would be fairly easy with even a rudimentary knowledge of Perl and regexp to
get it to do what you want.

Hi Abigail,

Yes, we have the filters in place for headers (including subjects).
Unfortunately, they consistantly have clients that use autoresponders so
far out of whack that the only way to filter is based on body content.
This was fine when I had them using majordomo (majordomo has body
filtering); however, now that I have have moved them to mailman we need
a new solution.

Thanks.
