I went looking in /var/log/maillog to verify the installation of
milter-greylist and I have these lines:
May 10 16:49:24 brianhaines sm-mta[65430]: j4AGnOOP065430: Milter
(greylist): local socket name /var/milter-greylist/milter-greylist.sock
unsafe
May 10 16:49:24 brianhaines sm-mta[65430]: j4AGnOOP065430: Milter
(greylist): to error state
Those are the only results searching for "milter" in the log.
It does not appear to be working.
Anything obvious? Other than I don't know what I am doing.

No--you should never cvsup your VPS v2 in any way. Ports is updated at least
daily, and the rest is maintained by Verio.
