We did that on one server for a long time and it really sucks when the
destination address is full or offline.

We have another customer who also uses exchange and they have the ETRN
stuff working. This is better for us because we don't need procmail to
direct them mail. It's delivered locally and then their box
interrogates ours.

For years, ETRN didn't work well with Exchange, but apparently now it does.
