The problem with Outlook is that it isn't really designed as a mail client
in the traditional sense of the term. It interfaces well with Exchange, but
not with real e-mail.

To start with, once it receives the e-mail it tosses away the headers and
only keeps the body, *after* it has preprocessed it for internal storage.
In other words, once Outlook as received the message, it's impossible to
retrieve a faithful copy of it as it was received.

The only way I can think of is to have a real MTA between the 'Net and the
Exchange server (this should be done anyway as a matter of course since
exposing any Microsoft software, Exchange included, directly to the 'Net is
asking for trouble). SA could then be set up to filter the mail before
passing it on to the Exchange box, with the option of passing stuff with a
score over a certain threshold straight onto sa-learn.

This kind of problem really shows up the huge divide between the Outlook/
Exchange duo and real e-mail. Now, if PHB's could be convinced that
something more expensive from a huge company is *not* necessarily what
gives the most "interoperability" (now, who used that word before?) then
you wouldn't have this problem on your hands now :)
