How are you doing your freshclam update in cron? Mine has never worked, and
trying to tie into the sj securesites servers constantly fails.

Steve, I've run the vinstall - and it appears that ClamAV is still running,
updating, and stopping viruses -- BUT I still get the error message in my
freshclam.log :

ClamAV update process started at Sat Oct 30 12:02:06 2004 main.cvd is up to
date (version: 27, sigs: 23982, f-level: 2, builder: tomek) daily.cvd
updated (version: 565, sigs: 2021, f-level: 3, builder: ccordes)
WARNING: Your ClamAV installation is OUTDATED - please update immediately !
WARNING: Current functionality level = 2, required = 3 Database updated
(26003 signatures) from database.clamav.net (213.73.255.243).

Going back over my logs I can see that this message started appearing on
October 18; running the vinstall has not resulted in any changes as far as
the message is concerned.
