Re: [vps-mail] ClamAV Warning

John,
Got the same error, so I checked some more; here's what is
on the sourceforge site:

>On April 24th, a new functionality level will be introduced
>in the database. There are a few signatures which can't be
>used by pre-0.70 scanner engines, so we need you to upgrade

http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?forum_id=369112

Here's how to upgrade:

% cd /ports/security/clamav
% make deinstall # removes old clamav
% make install
---- on the screen that comes up, if you are using milter,
choose OK, otherwise choose "C" for cancel
---- Watch all the words scroll by on the screen
% freshclam #updates signature file

And that's it. Unless you made any modifications from
default installation, there shouldn't be any problem - at
least there wasn't for me. If you are running clamd, you
will probably want to restart it.

JO> Hello All,

JO> First, for those who may have been offended with my remark to Marjoelin, I

JO> This morning, I executed the 'freshclam' to update Clam. I have this built

JO> It has been great for quite some time as approximately one month ago I

JO> The CVD header is ok, main.cvd is up to date, version 22, sigs 20229,

JO> Daily.cvd is ok, version 281, sigs 989, f-level 2, builder tkojm.

JO> However this is what was next:

JO> WARNING: Your ClamAV installation is OUTDATED - please update immediately !
JO> WARNING: Current functionality level = 1, required = 2

JO> I have not seen this before, thus I am researching as to why and or to why I
JO> never received an error in my CRON.

JO> Thus, for those of you who use ClamAV, I suggest going to the shell and
JO> execute 'freshclam' to see if you get this error.

JO> By the way, this is on a VPS2.
