[vps-mail] Bayes or ??
Since moving to a VPS-2, my SpamAssassin doesn't seem to be as effective.
I'm assuming it has nothing to do with the move but, that spammers are just
getting slicker as time goes on. They seem to have figured out how to keep
the SA spam counter down to 2-3. So, my next thought is to add another
filter that has a frequently updated database attached (my manual procmail
additions can't keep up with the barrage).
Someone (I think it was Abigail?) has mentioned Bayes or something in the
past as being a good option.
So, my two part question is:
1. What is a recommended option; something that will check against a
frequently updated list of spammers that won't be outdated quite as easily
as spamassassin.
2. Whether Bayes or another, can I get baby-steps on how to install it or
add it to my VPS-2? I think it is somehow a matter of adding a line to my
.procmail or something but, in reading the explanations, I've never quite
been able to get it right.
I have my SA running individually rather than server-wide if that makes a
difference. Thanks.
Regards,
Jim Smith
