Actually, it is *possible* to build milters on VPS1 (but it *isn't* pretty,
because of the chroot'ed environment). About two years I successfully built
a milter on VPS1. The sendmail binary supports milters. If you can come up
with an executable milter, you *might* be able to get it to work.
Another thing: sendmail on VPS1 is an older version (8.12.x, rather than
8.13.x that is on VPS2). With sendmail 8.13.x, the libmilter API introduced
a few new API calls. ... So if you *do* decide to try to build a milter on
VPS1, make sure that it doesn't call the new libmilter API calls.
(I wonder if there are any plans to upgrade sendmail on VPS1 ...?)
