I can't find it now, but I was getting a Warning: /var/milter-greylist and
something about a missing sock.

/var/milter-greylist is empty. 

I am following instructions at http://technoids.org/milter-greylist.html
which is great, but maybe not for the VPS?

Mark, you were able to apply this to a VPS? Any modifications?

try to:

restart_sendmail;tail -f /var/log/maillog

to see if you do not have a better error message that appear.
