Re: [vps-mail] ClamAV Questions

Ok, that fixed that problem, but now i've got another one: I've got two VPS2 accounts, and did the vinstall upgrade on both of them, but only one of them is giving me this error when cron runs freshclam (but only thru cron -works fine otherwise)

ERROR: Problem with internal logger.
ERROR: Can't open /var/log/clamav/freshclam.log in append mode (check permissions!).

I checked that file and its owned by clamav and has the same permissions as on my other VPS2 account.

-rw-r----- 1 clamav clamav 235824 May 4 13:32 freshclam.log

Any thoughts?

Matt

Good idea, - I just checked and while I didn't have the first one, I did have the second one UNcommented. I deleted the [/option/config/file/path] and we'll see if that fixes it.

Thanks,
Matt

Here's some more oddness: After the vinstall upgrade, i'm getting
this error message emailed to me by cron whenever
/usr/local/bin/freshclam --quiet is run by cron:

ERROR: Clamd was NOT notified: Can't find or parse configuration file
 [/optional/config/file/path]

The vinstall of clamav puts a couple of duplicate lines into
freshclam.conf. Look for a section like:

# Send the RELOAD command to clamd.
# Default: disabled
NotifyClamd
# By default it uses the hardcoded configuration file but you can force an
# another one.
#NotifyClamd /config/file/path

And see if the second NotifyClamd is commented out like above.
