Re: [vps-mail] Dramatic increase of SPAM during last days

The hard part is choosing which of the numerous blacklists is right for you.
You may be also able to filter by country as well since so much spam comes through Aisa and Argentina.
Within the past day or two someone recommended SpamCop. Using their blacklist can be as simple as adding the following line to your sendmail macro configuration file: FEATURE(`dnsbl', `bl.spamcop.net')dnl

I highly recommend spamcop and abuseat. We run 5 VPS.
For the first 16 hours of today (2/3), these are the spam attempts blocked by spamcop, spamhaus, abuseat and sorbs:

339
227
108
100
64

The above would project to over 1200 attempts per day which procmail never even sees! The data of the mail is never transferred because it is refused at the SMTP transaction level.

Go for it!
