RE: [vps-mail] Spam getting past SA

Funny, I didn't notice the negative value until you said that. DOH!

I have a feeling that my local.cf file is not being used.

I have these entries:

use_terse_report 0
HABEAS_SWE -1.0

I am not getting the full report header (as commented in a different
message I sent to this list) and this HABEAS_SWE still seems to be
getting very low values from it's default of -8 instead of my value of
-1.

What could cause SA to not read in the etc/mail/spammassassin/local.cf
file?

I just decided to cross post this into the iserver list as the vps-mail
list seems not very active. I won't make a habit of it.

Brian,

1)Your score is not high enough, its too low - note the
'negativeness' of your hits value

2)Habeas is a company that copywrited a haiku and lets people use it
for sending valid email. the thought was that if a non-valid sender
used the haiku, then there was a real law broken - copyright
infringement - for which habeas could sue them, rather than futzing
around with anti-spam law.

the problem with this particular spammer is that he's not sending it
himself, but using a zombie army to send them, so its not possible to
track down the spammer. According to their web site they do know
about the problem but haven't been able to fix it yet.

That's why habeas_swe is marked as such a low negative value. It
did indeed work for a while until someone figured out a work-around.
