[vps-mail] Relaying denied
- Subject: [vps-mail] Relaying denied

After migrating an account to the vps2 platform, the client is now
getting "Relaying denied" messages. This is NOT due to a
misconfiguration of the vps2 server; but, rather from a failed reverse
lookup that the vps2 server does (according to verio support). Is there
a way to allow our client to be able to send email? Changing to port
5190 does not help, and they are on a dynamic IP, so, we can't just
simply allow that IP as valid either. Does anyone have any suggestions.
Here is the error, and tech support's explanation of the problem.
**********************
Hello Mark,
Thank you for contacting technical support; the problem appears to be
with the reverse lookup on the ip address they are connecting from. The
ip address 64.252.248.224, which is assigned by their ISP, resolves to
224.248.252.64.snet.net; but 224.248.252.64.snet.net does not resolve
back to 64.252.248.224. This appears to be causing the IP name possibly
forged [64.252.248.224] error. Their ISP will need to be contacted to
resolve this issue. If you have any questions please let me know.
Regards,
Brad
