[vps-mail] savelogs question

While reading through procmail documentation and tutorials, I stumbled over a reference to the program savelogs.
It seems to do exactly what I need (I had already started writing a PHP program to do something similar...) with one small execption: its date extensions are in yymmdd format.
While I can keep remininding myself that they are in this format, I can't tell from looking at the date, and I find this confusing. I've been using ISO-standard dates since 1971, but I habitually use the full format yyyymmdd (with or without separators) so the date is unambiguous. (I know ISO allows omitting the 'century' part, I simply never do to avoid ambiguity.)
What I've been unable to find (I read through man and tutorial) is whether it's possible to configure (or even modify) savelogs so it will use a full yyyymmdd format for the date extension. Can this be done?
