I realize that - I've had that recipe around since before
Scott wrote his excellent tutorial. I simply haven't
bothered to change it because it is a short list that scans
email headers only, which means basically that it's rather
trivial in terms of computer processing time.

But certainly you are right in terms of creating a list, it
is better to set it up to finish on the first condition.
Eventually I'll get around to rewriting the recipe. But even
as written, it saves on processing time because it is run
AHEAD of spamassassin -- once an email makes it to SA for
scanning EVERY SINGLE SA test will be run no matter what. On
my system, about half of the SA runs take 30 seconds or
more.
