Re: [vps-mail] procmail escaping of non alphanumerics

Scott,

Excellent example for scoring, thanks.

Possibly in the future, you will consider highlighting the differences in procmail regexes (or context dependent ones) as I'm still a little unclear on them.

The spam I'm getting uses all kinds of wacky combos but most should be easy to detect. Which need to be escaped:

single and double quotes
backquote (unix shell chars - is this dangerous in procmail recipes?)
carret (\^seems to be ok)

What about the various brackets [{<>}]?

A second type I'm getting uses accents on vowels to fool filters:

"Thïs ïs whät yöur döctör ördërëd"

I need to receive mail in European languages but it appears scoring could be used to count up the number of accents and with careful thought that should work as well.
