I think so - I had that problem too. I removed the older .cf
files from ~/usr/local/share/spamassassin
In my case, I think the problem lines were in the file:
40_spam_phrases.cf which was dated October 24 2002. [I
actually renamed it to 40_spam_phrases.cf.old rather than
remove it, which is why I can retrace my steps, but there is
no reason to keep it. I was simply being cautious].
