Mark,
If you really want to get rid of all attachments, there is a
a very simple perl script called stripmime that is very easy to set up - you
just install it & pipe mail through it. It also gets rid of
HTML, though - basically, whatever goes through it is
converted to plain text.

I've used it for mailing lists and also for archiving on the
server -- mail to certain business addresses is archived by
piping a copy through stripmime & then sending it to a file
- we do it this way to save on bandwidth since the archives
are primarily for record-keeping purposes only.
