But when the account is created you cannot choose the directory of the

/home/username.. That seems pretty useless to me. Is there any way to have
sub ftp account go in sub directory of the website ? If not what is the
point of having ftp account created under this domain admin, do i missed
something ?
That exactly what I want to do... I have a server where each top-level
directory is managed by a different user... via FTP.
I can only think of three ways
1) Have the users home directory in the subdirectory of the web (if he only
has FTP access this doesn't add extra files)
2) Use the /home/user model, and create something like /www/hisarea in that
/home/user directory.
2a) Then, create a synlink from shareddomain.com/hisplace into
/home/user/www/hisarea
OR
2b) Use a Rewrite to redirect /shareddomain.com/hisplace to
/home/user/www/hisarea
Of course with #2 variants, you have to tell him that once he gets to his
home directory, he will have to move to /www/hisarea to put his web files.
Does CPX has an opinion on how to do this, and which is most in line with
the "CPX model"? I assume some variant of #2 is since you can't create a
home directory wherever you want with CPX.
Then, you have to decide which is the best way to get the server to go into
his directory... I guess I would favor the symlink, unless others have a
better suggestion?
The one problem I see is that the web server for sharedomain.com is running
under the domain admins user/group and now we are pointing to files in some
other users area... I guess if they are all world readable, this isn't a
problem? or if both are in the www group? Is there any security issues here?
